A Few of My Favorites About Footprints

Updated: Aug 14

By: Sophia McMillan

Choosing to apply for Footprints has been one of the best decisions I have made in my college career. I became a new member my sophomore year spring and my first semester as a part of the Footprints family was one of my favorite times yet. I was able to meet so many amazing people that share my love for helping others and that are such nice, genuine people. My first time meeting my new member class was through a Zoom ice breaker meeting. Even though it was on zoom, I still felt like I was able to interact and enjoy all their companies.

My favorite part about being a member of Footprints is knowing I have a bunch of people that have my back. One of my favorite events I have attended as a member of Footprints is a Child Life TV social event. During this event, a bunch of us made paw print pillows for the children on the units we volunteer for. Not all of us are crafty, so it was funny to see what each of our pillows ended up looking like. A simple arts and crafts social like this stuck with me because I enjoy laughing and talking with other people to get to know them better. Being a member of Footprints is such a wonderful and fulfilling part of my life, I do not know what I would do without my Footprints family.

Sophia McMillan is a Sophomore majoring in Biology with a minor in Education Studies. She joined Footprints in Spring 2022 and is on the pre-med track.
